About

Yehuda Shapiro

Yehuda Shapiro is an experienced marketing and communications strategist who, through his work as a writer and translator, also gives direct, powerful expression to his clients’ messages. He is a founding director of full-service agency SENSO Communications.

With a background as an international marketing director, and 15 years as an independent service-provider, he offers clients a valuable and cost-effective package of skills: consultancy, project management and content creation/editorial services.

Taking a distinctive approach – rooted in curiosity, creativity and rigour – Yehuda applies strategic and practical thinking for a diverse client base that spans media and entertainment, professional services, pharmaceuticals and the not-for-profit sector.

He is also active as a journalist, writing on opera for leading specialist publications, and – on behalf of his clients – producing thought-leadership articles published in such media as the FT and Guardian.

The truths of a product or service, and the realities of life and commercial relationships, are fundamental to his working practice. Both incisive and imaginative, he believes in delivering clear, persuasive and stimulating messages to sharply-defined audiences. As a commercial writer, he produces lucid, stylish copy that gives consistent expression to the strategy defined with his client.

Originally trained at advertising agency Young & Rubicam, Yehuda has an MA in French & German from Oxford University and also works with Italian. Key to his professional development were his senior in-house roles (all international in scope) with the Financial Times (FT.com), NetHold (a pioneer of digital TV in Europe), Virgin Retail and EMI Music and his experience of fast-moving, entrepreneurial organisations, notably start-ups in digital media and ecommerce.
